The Week That Was In Sports

The weeks are starting to be less packed as summer draws near. This week I only had one event that was not a 10u softball game on the schedule. It was the semi state game for Harrison. As it turned out that would be my final high school softball game of the year. I really had a blast making high school softball photos this past year. When I realized that I would have any work at the state finals I was pretty bummed out. I didn’t want it to end. All good things must end though and high school softball has. Here are some of my favorite stories of the week.

Harrison’s Comeback Falls Just Short

During the first game of the semi state for Harrison they were down going into the last inning. For most teams things would have seemed bleak. For this team though I never felt like things were out of reach. In fact when they did finally fall that was the first time that I had the thought that they could lose. In fact when the final out was recorded they had the bases loaded with the winning run on second. I was ready for the walk off. I guess that shows you what I think of this team that I always thought that they had the comeback easy. This is a fun team to photograph. They play the game hard, and with a ton of emotion. I didn’t get as many games in this year as I would have liked. I was hoping for a long postseason run to make up for that.

Great Light, And A Great Time

This week after our 10u game my little one and some of her team got their concession items and went into the stands to watch the 12u team. The 12u opponent didn’t show up so a scrimmage broke out. The announcers and umpire were varsity softball players so they joined in the fun. Everyone from high school to 10u was out there having fun and playing the game. Sometimes I think that we forget that it is a game meant to have fun. That was a great nigh watching everyone just playing for fun. I made this photo of my little one as the sun was setting. It was a great memory from a fun night.
