A Visit From The Swainson’s Thrush
This bird is not rare in the spring. In fact they can be everywhere. What is rare is seeing them somewhere interesting. They like to forage on the ground and in thick brush for the most part. That makes it hard to photograph them. Here though I had a clear line right in at one that had just been spooked by a jogger. It was only on this perch for a second before diving back down to the ground.
Celery Bog Week
The theme this week is going to be birds of the Celery Bog. This used to be a staple of this blog, but lately I haven’t gotten out there very much. To be a good bird photographer you have to spend a lot of time in the field. That time is not something that I have to give right now so my visits are rare. This week though I thought that it would be fun to look at some of the birds that come through the bog.
