The Carroll County Courthouse
This courthouse is not too far from where I live, but for some reason I had never been to downtown Delphi until this past week. This is a simple courthouse, but I really like how it looks. This angle with the war monument really is a good one. This courthouse has been in the news for all the wrong reasons the last few years so I wanted to make a nice photo of it.
What To Do When You Run Out Of Room
Because this was a softball road trip I had my 28-70mm lens with me. Normally on road trips I have the 24-105, but I wanted that extra light that the 28-70mm lens would give me. That worked out later in the night, but here I was just a bit too close to the monument. I couldn’t back up any more or I would have been in the intersection and had all of the road signs in the photo. The answer was to make three photos and stitch them together in Lightroom. I had lots of overlap to try and cut out the warping so it became three images. I really like the way that the photo turned out. I think I like this photo more than if I had used an extreme wide angle. The lines are a little more natural than they would have been.
