Another Tobacco Barn

It is funny how viral advertising in the old days was putting your name on a barn near a busy road. That is what the folks at Mail Pouch did years ago. These barns are iconic though, and as all old barns go they are shrinking in numbers every year. This was not the reason for my trip to Flora, but it did become the focal point pretty quickly. It is on a busy road, but luckily for me there is a less busy road near here where I could pull over and make this photo.

Documenting The Barns

I have made it a point to stop whenever I see a cool barn to make a photo of it. It doesn’t take much for them to no longer exist. One of the barns from the opening of the movie Hoosiers was knocked over in a storm a couple of years ago before I ever thought to make a photo of it for my project. These old barns are built well, but time takes its toll on everything. I have had some fun making photos of every barn that I can.
