The Three Sisters On Clear Lake
The three sisters of Pine Lake are three cypress trees on Clear Lake in my hometown of LaPorte. They have been there since I was a kid. They used to separate the main lake and the goldfish pond. Now everything is kind of now one and the trees are out there on their own. The old pump house that used to be near them is also now gone. Here knowing that I was backlit I low-key thought that it was a good idea to make a high key photo. The scene would turn into nearly perfect whites and perfect blacks. I really like how this one came out. It was one of my favorite photos from the short trip home, and it was in probably the worst conditions to make a good photo.
A Month Of Black And White
Last year I seized on the fact that February typically does not have a lot of color to have a month full of black and white photos. This year I am doing the same, but with a little more planning. I have made the photos for this month over a long stretch of time instead of more of a real time thing like last year. My weekly theme will become a monthly one for twenty eight days.
