Opening Night At The Civic

Opening Night At The Civic

Part of the fun of this monthly theme was coming up with different types of black and white photography to put on here. Here on opening night of a play at the Civic Theatre I walked past the building with this photo in mind. The wet ground was reflecting the light a little, and I wanted to make a dark frame that was only lit by the signs. I really like how this one turned out.

A Month Of Black And White

Last year I seized on the fact that February typically does not have a lot of color to have a month full of black and white photos. This year I am doing the same, but with a little more planning. I have made the photos for this month over a long stretch of time instead of more of a real time thing like last year. My weekly theme will become a monthly one for twenty eight days.

  1. Great work. Many wonderful shots but among my favorites are the truck crossing the bridge (love the composition and the color grading), the photos at the Lafayette Theater, the flag with the window reflection, and the shot through the triangle of the bush. You see and capture things in a creative way. And I’m always a sucker for black and white shots.
