Three Cameras At The Haan Museum
Last year after the holidays we made a trip to the Haan Museum to see the trains and the Christmas decorations. It is a yearly tradition at this point to
Sears TLS And Santa Gold 200
This was a combo that I was excited for. I really liked the idea of making photos on a film stock named Santa Gold. What I found was that the film must have had some issues with the remjet being washed off as it had light leaks everywhere and spots on the prints. There is some fun though thinking about how because of the issues with the film that every photo is different. They all have an old look to them. This could have been taken last Christmas or in 1960.
Sony A7RIII And Sony 24-105mm Lens
This is the photo that I have seen for the longest now. I processed the images the day that I made them from this camera. I didn’t see the Santa Gold images until almost six months later. I do like this photo a lot. I spent a little time to make it look good. I think that without seeing the photo below I would have been very happy with this image.
Sears TLS And Portra 400
I had this roll of Portra 400 in the camera when I pulled up. I finished the roll so that I could use the Santa Gold film to make some Christmas photos. I really like how this image turned out on Portra.
Canon Sure Shot With FujiFilm 400
This is a camera that I make pictures with never knowing what I will get when I use it. Sometimes I get an awesome image, and other times it just doesn’t turn out for me. Since I made this photo I have found ways to trick the camera a little to get better results. This photo is a bit overexposed for my taste. It does have a cooler older feel to it though. When I first saw it I was not happy with it, but if I think about it in terms of a post card sized photo this looks like something that could have been taken years ago. This photo is growing on me.
Wrapping Things Up
This is a tough call. I like the Santa Gold film photo for the way that it just looks different than anything else that I do. The film was damaged somewhere along the way making every image unique. The image with my Sony is one that I like. The colors in it just look great to me. For some reason though I think that the Portra 400 image is my clear favorite. There is just something pleasing about it. Which one of these is your favorite?
