The Three Sisters In LaPorte, Indiana
I have made photos of these trees every chance that I have gotten for years now. They were my early photography test subjects when I was learning this hobby. The trees are called the three sisters and the sit on Clear Lake in LaPorte. They are bald cypress trees, and they just make for good photos. Yesterday I woke up early and drove down there hoping for some good blue hour light. As the sun started to rise though the glow through the clouds made for a very good photo.
The Story Of The Three Sisters
In have always known these trees as the three sisters. Later in life I found out that they were planted here in 1928 to honor three boys that drowned in the lake after falling through bad ice. I don’t know where the three sisters name came from, but that is what I know. They have taken out the pump house that was in front of these since I was last here, but the trees still stand. It is amazing what they have seen and withstood over the years.

Beautiful photo ^^;
