The First Time On The Court For Purdue Basketball
The last time that I saw some of these players they were at the airport celebrating a Final Four berth. Wednesday night they were back on the court at Mackey for their lone home exhibition game. It is always fun to see familiar faces again, and it is also fun to see the new faces that are the future of this program.
Getting In Tight
Using the 300mm lens lets me get in tight to make some photos that I could never make before. Here I saw a chance to do something cool during a free throw. Over the course of the season I look forward to new ways to make photos that this 300 will let me do.
The Little Moments
I love these little moments before the game. For the player it is just giving a high five to a fan. To the fan it is something much more profound. I really like how this photo turned out. It was my first photo of the day in the stadium, and it was a good start to my day.
Moving Around A Little
I really like the seat on the court that I had for the first half of the game. Because it was an exhibition game the wire photographers were not in attendance. I moved with Purdue for the second half to make some photos that I normally cannot make from my seat at the other end of the court. I made this photo just before the start of the second half, and it was a good start to the half.
Getting The Dunk
These early season games are basically a long wait for a big play like a dunk. We got three dunks Wednesday night. This was the first of the three. I am glad that I made this photo because I was blocked for the second dunk, and the third dunk was going away from me. It is always an easy photo for the gallery. Next week maybe we can get that breakaway dunk.
Starting Off Outside
As I was walking into the stadium the clouds outside looked perfect for a good sunset photo. As it sometimes does the sky cleared out right before it could have gotten good. I still like this photo. I will have many games this year to make pregame photos of the players. There are not many games that start around sunset so I wanted to take advantage of that.
