Finding The Small Things Around Town
One of the best things about the last year or so to happen to my photography is having my eyes opened to everything around me. We were walking back to our car one day after dinner when I spotted this old window mostly boarded up. It looked like at one time that it would have been an amazing window full of color. I wanted to make a photo of it to preserve a little of that. I had never even seen this before as it is kind of hidden away. I am glad that I did though.
Life Parallels Art
Your art becomes an extension of you. I think that in some way I sort of feel similar to these small unseen parts of the towns around me. I have been doing this for a while now, but I am not as loud about what I do as others can be. You walk into an arena with banners up that another photographer made. You see the senior day photo displays with other photographers senior photos on them. I am by nature a quiet person that doesn’t like attention. With what I do I feel like I would always have to be loud about what I do or people forget you because of the new person that just started. Maybe that is my draw to these smaller scenes off the beaten path. I can relate to them a little.
