A Great Sunrise

Yesterday I was coming home from dropping the oldest off at school when the sky caught fire. Just a couple of minutes before I was near campus, but I couldn’t really see what was happening to the east where I was. When I pulled up to the highway I saw the sky starting to light up and tried to get somewhere quickly. This was about the best the I could do with the time that I had. I didn’t know where else to go with a view like this so I settled for a building that I have not photographed yet. I liked the peaks and the way that they pointed at the sky so it would do the trick.

In the past I would have missed the entire sunrise trying to find an epic subject to put in the frame. This is a building that I have driven by many times so it was neat ton finally have a reason to make a photo of it. Over the past year or so I have taken a lot of pleasure in documenting everything around me. Next time that the sky lights up like this though I wouldn’t mind being in an epic location.
