The Fountain County Courthouse

The Fountain County Courthouse In Covington, Indiana

So far on this tour of the courthouses I have focused on the older and more unique courthouses. This courthouse was built in 1937 which makes it a newer courthouse when it comes to this tour. It was built to replace three previous courthouses that stood in the town. This one is a bit more brutalist than what I have shown so far. It was built as part of the depression as a new deal project to get people jobs and to build infrastructure. It might not be the prettiest of the bunch but it gets the job done.

Courthouse Week

This week in the afternoon I plan on looking at some of the courthouses that I saw this past summer. Every softball tournament that we had was near one if not two courthouses so I got to see a few of them. The fun thing about them is that they all are very different, and those differences make photographing them fun.
