The Whitley County Courthouse

This courthouse in Columbia City is what you think of when you think of a courthouse. It was built in 1888 and still looks amazing today. They literally do not make them like this anymore. This courthouse sits on a beautiful town square and of course is the centerpiece of it. At one point we started losing these old courthouses because they are expensive to maintain. Luckily in this case this old courthouse still stands to remind us of how beautiful they can be.

Courthouse Week

This week in the afternoon I plan on looking at some of the courthouses that I saw this past summer. Every softball tournament that we had was near one if not two courthouses so I got to see a few of them. The fun thing about them is that they all are very different, and those differences make photographing them fun.
