Sunset On The New Mural
Last week coming home from scouts my daughter and I stopped by the murals painted by Shane Hello to photograph the sunset around them. This is the closest mural to me so it will probably get photographed the most. I had this idea for a photo a while ago, but I was just waiting for the sky to compliment the art. Here it did just that. All this needed was someone walking or riding by I think to really make a great frame.
Looking Back At Wabash Walls
For a couple of weeks in August I put a lot into photographing the new murals going up around town. It started as a project that might see thirty or so images out there. It turned into a project with nearly 700 images out there. I thought that just some updated photos of each mural would do, but I found that what they were doing was much too intricate for that. In documenting the murals going up I learned a ton. It was inspiring to me. I was watching amazing artists do their thing. How could I make myself better? Hopefully next year the Wabash Walls festival will be at a time when I can devote a lot of time to it again. It recharged my batteries and had me ready to make art. I don’t know if I did that, but the creative battery was fully charged when it was over.
