Harrison And McCutcheon Battle For The Sword

A Cool Chance To Photograph The Sword Game

For a lot of the week I was trying to figure out where to spend my Friday night. West Lafayette had their homecoming game, but Harrison and McCutcheon were battling for the sword. My choice was made easy when I was asked to cover the sword game for the paper. I like it when I don’t have to decide. The choice was made for me already. This is a fun game to watch, and after seeing my second sword game I realize that it should be the choice every year. It is a very emotional game that just makes for good photos.

When The Light Is Right

There is one night a year when the light is perfect to make this photo. It is low enough that the shadows and the fog do amazing things. Just before the team ran out I realized that I might have lucked into the perfect night for this photo. I got down low and the light did not disappoint. It always feels good to make a photo early in the night, and after this one I hoped that I would have a pretty cool gallery to put out.

More Photos From The Game

You can see more photos from the game here. The best way to reward the paper for hiring a freelancer is to make sure that the gallery gets lots of views. Give the link a click and check it out.
