Notre Dame Visits Purdue
Saturday was a fun day for me. Growing up I was a huge Irish fan before becoming a Purdue fan. I have photographed the Irish on their home field before, but it was kind of neat to get to photograph them here at Purdue. This year marks thirty years since my first Purdue football game, and that was against Notre Dame. It was great that they were able to play each other again. I miss the rivalry. Next year the game is at Notre Dame. I need to find a way to get onto the field for that one.
Son Of A Son
Back in the day one of my favorite football players was Bryant Young. He was a force at Notre Dame, and went on to win a Super Bowl in the NFL. Whenever I would start a Madden franchise back then I would always find a way for Bryant to end up on the Packers. On Saturday I was able to photograph his son Bryce on the field at Purdue. I had a fairly pedestrian photo of him that I could have used, but then he helped on a sack and came out of the pile yelling. It is a pretty good photo of the son of one of my favorite all time Irish players.
A Bad Year
This has been a year where the teams that I like are setting records. That should be a good thing, but the records that they are setting are bad. My White Sox are trying to set every loss record that they can in baseball. They are on pace to smash the record for losses in a season. Purdue sets some records of their own on Saturday. None of them were good either. Maybe it is just time to quit watching sports.
