Wabash Walls 2024 – CERA

Getting To Meet CERA

It is funny how things work out. On the first day of the Wabash Walls project this year I saw the name CERA on one of the umbrellas the artists were using. I thought to myself how cool it would be to get to see him paint. A couple of his works were the reason that I really started to take an interest in how this process is done. On what I thought would be the final day of the festival I met another artist named Jan that would be painting a couple of murals. He looked a little familiar to me and then I found out why. His street name is CERA, and it turned out I would be able to watch him paint. I had a super busy weekend and couple of weekdays while he was painting, but I was able to get to see CERA at work.

A Great Scene

Everyday I tried to find another way to work CERA’s car into the photos. Under the bridge it was a cool scene the way that everything was laid out. Part of this project for me was to show how this was done. Pulling out to show the entire scene is another great way to show this process.

If you are into art you have to get out and see these artists paint next year. Every one of them was amazing, and they had so much to say about art. I have been spending some time studying other forms of art other than photography for the last couple of years. I never went to art school so I taught myself everything that I know.

More Projections

I had the opportunity to photograph CERA project both of his walls. It was late at night on days when I had a full day of photography, but I love the way that the process works. It helps make for great photos, and is also a huge part of the process. This was one of my favorite projection photos from the week. Below are a few bonus photos that I liked from watching CERA paint both of his walls.
