Wabash Walls 2024 – Shane Hello

Shane Hello Joins Wabash Walls From France

Shane Hello was the last member of the Monster Crew that I met. That is kind of crazy because his wall is the closest wall to my house. Shane took a boring wall behind some businesses and turned it into a series of amazing murals. When I finally found his wall it was the first one that I would go to every morning. The fun part about visiting Shane’s wall was that I didn’t always know what I was going to find. He was painting several murals and coming up with them as he went along. They all had a root in some previous work of his, but he was taking them from the page to the wall. One of the highlights of the week for me was seeing his sketchbook. It was really fun to see his ideas in sketch form. Some of them made it to a canvas before ending up on a wall in the city where I live. The fun part about watching Shane paint was his entire process. You could see the idea form, then a sketch, maybe a tweak or two to the sketch, and finally the actual painting process. Just when I thought he was done with a section of the wall he would add little things to the piece that really made it pop. Those little things are what makes him such a great artist.

Where Does The Wall End And The Sky Begin?

Part of the fun of the colors that Shane was using was how close they were to the beautiful skies that we had for nearly every day of the Wabash Walls festival. I have already been planning some fun photos over the course of the year as the conditions change with this wall. It is so close to where I live that it will be by far the easiest to get to.
