It’s In The Game
This is my first college football game on the sidelines with the new NCAA football game out. In 2013 they released a game, but I was not yet on the sidelines. I used to hope that I could be as cool as those pixels with cameras in the game. This year I was out there seeing names in front of me that are in the game. It was a pretty cool feeling for a guy that has been playing college football games back to the Bill Walsh Football days.
Look Out!
For years I have avoided getting trucked on the sidelines. I am good at knowing when to get out of the way. On Saturday that all ended. I was following the play coming right at me and was about to get a sweet stiff arm photo when I suddenly ended up a few feet behind where I was. Apparently a Purdue receiver was really intent on blocking an Indiana State defensive back out of the back of the end zone. I just happened to be in the way. As I get older those hits are harder and harder to get over. That stiff arm photo would have been amazing.
Seeing Coach Mallory Again
I photographed Coach Mallory’s first season at Indiana State. That year let me get to some new stadiums and check off a bucket list item by photographing a game in Neyland Stadium. Whenever Indiana State comes to town it is always great to see a few familiar faces around the stadium. I hope that coach has a great season with this team.
Bonus Photos
Below are a few bonus photos from my first game of the year. It was nice having all of my gear for the first time in a while. The next game against Notre Dame will be really special. This has been an insanely busy last couple of weeks. You can kind of tell just how busy by the fact that this post is about twelve hours late. Here are a few bonus photos for your late night enjoyment on this Labor Day.
