The Owl At Second Flight Books

I made this photo a while back while out hunting Waldo’s with my little one. Second Flight Books had one at their location. My little one had just gotten her new camera so we took some time to photograph the cool exterior of the building. This mural was painted by Justin Suarez who goes by Aerosol Kingdom. If you follow this blog then you know that I love to photograph owls. This is an easy way to make an owl photo whenever I want. I need to head over here one night after an Aviator game when the sky looks similar to what is in the artwork.

Murals Everywhere!

This week I have been pretty busy bothering the five artists that are in town as part of the Wabash Walls mural project. It has been amazing and inspiring to see how they take these huge blank canvases and turn them into art. They all have a different process and workflow which is fun to watch. If you are in the area you have to check these out. There are two in West Lafayette. One of them is behind the Silver Dipper off of the Sagamore Parkway. The other on the West Side is just down from All Fired Up on the Wabash Landing Apartments. In Lafayette you can find the murals all over. The first is on the Tippecanoe County library. There is another mural in the Jefferson District on 12th Street. The final mural is on the side of the Food Finders warehouse. All of the artists are great people as well as artists so stop by and say hi to them.
