A Smoky Sunset In Colfax

I made this photo in 2023 during the height of the wildfire smoke in our area. The air quality was bad everyday, and the sky always had a weird look to it. Near sunset though the light started to get really good. As you can see in the photo above the golden hour started much earlier than it normally does. I was getting set up for this photo when this pair of bicyclists turned onto the road I was on. I tried to hurry up and frame this photo so they would be in it. I wish that I had a little more time, but I still like how this photo turned out.

Water Tower Week

One thing that is slowly fading away is the classic look of the small town water tower. They have always had a great look to them, but slowly they are being replaced by water towers that are not so photogenic. This week I thought that it would be fun to take a look at some of those water towers.
