A Two For One Building
This is a great old building that is part of the Wabash Walls project. You have two amazing murals. On the left side of the frame is a mural called Firefly by Max Sansing. It is a striking mural of a person holding a firefly. My oldest was part of the group of students that pushed for the firefly to become the state insect so it is always cool to see a firefly in art around here. On the right side of the frame is Fiddle by Jenna Morello. Jenna has a few pieces on this street that are all amazing. When the mural was painted there was a large tree on the left side of the front of the building that looked great with this piece. It is gone now. Maybe this year when the project returns they can fill that side of the building.
Wabash Walls Week
This week my afternoon posts will all be showing a different portion of the Wabash Walls project. I love these themes in the summer as they give me a goal at a time when I don’t have the most time to make photos. The Wabash Walls project is a great one because it is a theme for the week, but it is also inspiring. These artists are amazing at what they do. It is one thing to sketch something on paper. It is another to make a large mural on the side of the building. This will be a fun week looking at these murals.
