The Conductor

The Conductor by Andrés Petroselli

If you are heading down Wabash going to look at the murals this might be the first one that you see. There is something about it that might also make it my favorite. The face on the white background up against the blue sky just looks great. This is so lifelike too that you don’t exactly know what you are looking at when you first see it. As it was first going up the community started to think that it was Barack Obama. Of course it was not, but in the early stages it had Lafayette talking. Andrés Petroselli who goes by Cobre came from Argentina to paint this mural. It is a striking way to start off your Wabash Walls tour.

Wabash Walls Week

This week my afternoon posts will all be showing a different portion of the Wabash Walls project. I love these themes in the summer as they give me a goal at a time when I don’t have the most time to make photos. The Wabash Walls project is a great one because it is a theme for the week, but it is also inspiring. These artists are amazing at what they do. It is one thing to sketch something on paper. It is another to make a large mural on the side of the building. This will be a fun week looking at these murals.
