Spotting The Ice Cream Truck

When I was a kid there was no greater thrill than finding the ice cream truck as it came down the road. You would faintly hear the sounds of the truck, and then when you realized that it was the real deal the feeling was amazing. I kind of felt the same way when I saw this scene while walking down Main Street with my little one the other day. I really liked how this scene looked. We were out on a mission finding Waldo downtown so I made sure we walked back down this side of the street. I have been having lots of fun finding little scenes like this over the course of the last couple of years. I don’t know if they are popular or not, but I really like them.

The Great Waldo Hunt

Right now Lafayette has a fun thing going on where they have hidden Waldo in several local businesses for you to find. As you walk down Main Street if you see a Waldo sticker on the outside of a business then it means that they are part of the fun. There is a guide in those shops that will direct you to the rest of the shops that have Waldo in them. It seems to all lead back to Main Street Books where you can claim your prizes for finding Waldo. It is a fun way to get people into the shops during the slower summer months, and a fun activity to spend parts of our days doing.
