A Beautiful Day To Photograph The Oxford Water Tower

When I was in Oxford, Indiana a while back the skies were playing along for me to make some interesting photos. It really helped me make an interesting photo of the Oxford water tower here. I like the minimalist nature of what is going on here. As a photographer I always want a little more. A couple of clouds spaced just right in the frame would be amazing. As it stands though I really like how this image turned out.

The Lore Of Dan Patch

The first time that I ever drove through this town on a photo tour I had so many questions about who Dan Patch must be. With his name everywhere I assumed he was a Paul Bunyan type of mythical figure. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Dan Patch was a horse! It turns out though that in the early 20th century Dan Patch was arguably the most famous athlete in America. It took a figure like Babe Ruth to knock him off of that pedestal. I have always been a huge Harry Truman fan, and as a young boy Truman wrote a fan letter to Dan Patch. That is all that I need to know that this horse was something special.
