Visiting The Hometown Of Dan Quayle
I will admit that when I entered Huntington, Indiana I was looking for a Carnegie Library without much else on my mind. The area around the library was pretty interesting so I took a short walk. On that walk was the Quayle Vice Presidential Learning Center. It is housed in a former church near some amazing older buildings. On the day I was driving through it was closed so I just made a few photos outside of it. Quayle served as vice-president for four years before sort of fading into history a bit. In the past few years his name has come back up as he played a role in the events surrounding the 2020 election. I need to get back here when the museum is open someday.
A Good History Of Vice Presidents
At one time believe it or not Indiana was a swing state. Because of that we ended up with quite a few vice presidents and candidates for vice presidents. Now the state is pretty much sewn up so we don’t even get that many visits from the candidates. It was kind of neat to get to see this part of American history even if I happened to be there on an off day.
