The Lagro American Legion #248

One small town that was well worth my visit while on my way home from a softball tournament was Lagro. This American Legion was exactly what I had in mind for this week. It is everything that I think about when I think of the American Legion. I thought that it was pretty cool sitting in front of it, but when I saw the flag mural on the side of the building I knew that it would be my post for the 4th of July this year. This building is everything patriotic about these buildings.

What better week to take a look at some American Legion buildings than this week? The legion was founded with patriotism in mind, and you don’t see as much patriotism as you do this week. Beyond being a way to help promote patriotism the legion also is an advocate for veterans. They were a key part in the G.I. Bill getting passed.
