The Colfax Carnegie Library

I made this photo about a year ago while in town for a youth softball game. The sky was pretty cool because of the setting sun and the wildfire smoke that was in our atmosphere. Here that golden light looks great bouncing off of the library and the town water tower above it. This is kind of a two for one photo with a couple of things that I like to photograph in this photo.

Library Week

This week with school being out I thought it would be fun to take a look at every kids favorite place to visit in the summer. The library! This particular library is another of the Carnegie libraries that are spread all around the world. Andrew Carnegie would give money to those who asked for it if they were building a library around the turn of the 20th century. This particular library was built in 1917 with the help of $9,000 from Mr. Carnegie.
