A Couple Of My Favorite Things

If you can find me a good barn I am a happy man. I also love photographing windmills. When you put the two together I get really excited about things. This is a photo I made while out looking for owls. I had my 200-600mm lens with me with my 1.4x extender on it giving me a long reach. A photo like this is something that I have wanted to do for a while now letting the compression make it look like everything was closer together than it actually was. I have made photos of this barn from the road right in front of it, but here I was across the field with a much longer lens. I like the way that it turned out.

Never Happy As A Photographer

I like how this image turned out. As I was writing the post though I thought about some knee high corn in the foreground and how much better that would make it look. The fun thing about subjects like this that are close to me is that I can maybe make that happen. We are getting close to that time of year right now.
