The Lafayette Theater At Blue Hour
I made this photo while checking out the new string lights in downtown Lafayette for the first time. This was not my first idea for this photo. You have already seen my original idea for this building. After I had made some photos though I really wanted to try out this straight on approach. I liked how it turned out. I talked about it in another post from this trip, but sometimes working the scene a little can give you a result that you didn’t expect, but one that you really like.
Dusting Off The Old 12-24mm Lens
I really love this old lens. It lets me get a wide view of my subject unlike any other lens that I have. I really liked the idea of letting the lights be large on the edge of the frame and then move into the scene. I think that the lens did quite good here doing just that. I don’t use this lens much anymore, but I am always happy when it does its job.
