The New String Lights At The Lafayette Brewing Company
If you have read this blog for any length of time then you know that this is a special place for me. As I was coming up with places where I wanted to get the new string lights with the blue hour sky this was at the top of the list. It is always such a tough building to photograph though for me. I ended up settling on this straight on composition. I liked the way that the lights moved through the frame here.
Working The Scene
Early on in my photography journey I watched a video about Joel Sartore the National Geographic photographer. They followed him on a couple of assignments and you got to see some of his process. He talked about working the scene a lot in that video, and it has always stuck with me. I always walk up to a subject with some sense of what I want to do. From that photo I will work the scene a little to try other things. This was not my first choice here, but by trying it out I found out that I really liked how it turned out.
