Starting What Could Be A Crazy Day

When I dropped the oldest off at practice this morning I took a moment to make the photo above. Today we will have a total eclipse of the sun in the afternoon, and Purdue playing for a National Championship at night. This has the potential to be an amazing day for photography. I thought that it would be fun to start it off with a  photo of the sun and basketball coming together.

Where To Go For The Eclipse?

We are still figuring out where to watch the eclipse happen. Of course I want to make some photos during it so we are factoring that into our decision. There are some really cool options. A drive in theater just North of Lebanon, Indiana is hosting a watch party. There is the big event at the speedway in Indy. My thought is to find a barn on a country road and watch it there. I will have a nice foreground subject for a wide photo, and an unobstructed view to make my tight photos. I am holding off the afternoon post so that I can post a photo of the eclipse tonight. I hope that I have something good to show you.
