Seeing Something Jaw Dropping
When I first heard that West Lafayette was just outside of the totality zone I was not worried about it. I like to document things where I live. I would just do that. I had some people tell me that I had to see totality. I took their advice and drove down to Thorntown, Indiana to watch it there. This is a little town that I have wanted to visit anyway so why not see it when a major event is happening? It was crazy as it got closer feeling the temperature go down and then seeing the light slowly fade. The sound the people watching made when totality hit was amazing as well. We only had just under two minutes of totality. I spent the first few seconds firing off photos, and then we took the time to take it in as a family. As it was going away I fired off a few more frames again. This was so worth the drive. Now that I know what I know I would drive much farther to see this again.
More Photos To Come
I made a lot of photos today. A lot to go through and find moments in a day full of them. I am sure in the next couple of days you will see a few more photos from today pop up. I tried to take advantage of the crazy light on each side of totality to make some photos as well of the buildings around it. The crazy light hopefully results in some nice images.
