In Search Of Saul Leiter

Trying To Find Saul Leiter In Downtown Lafayette

This past winter I found the work of Saul Leiter and was immediately inspired. He just did things in a different way that I really liked. One of the aspects of his work that I liked was the way that he used windows to add depth to a photo. I went to a basketball game and immediately tried this technique out. I also spent some time in downtown Lafayette trying it out as well. There are so many places to have some fun with this technique in Lafayette.

Where Is Everyone?

On the day that I was trying this out in downtown it was a cold Sunday afternoon. There were not a lot of people coming through to put into my photos. Saul had the good fortune of trying these things out in New York where people walking by is not a problem. On this day I saw two people pass in front of this store. If this gentleman had not crossed the street I would have only had one chance to make this photo. I need to get out and try this again when things area  little busier downtown.
