Photographing The Carolina Wren In The Backyard
This morning two Carolina Wrens were hanging out in my backyard. They were very loudly calling out to each other so I grabbed a camera and went out back. The birds put on a show not really caring about me. I would guess that they were just having some fun during mating season calling back and forth to each other. In fact as I write this a few hours later I hear them out there still. When the birds are focused on things other than you it makes for a good photographic situation. You can really get some behavior that way.
A Busy Winter
The fact that this is the first backyard bird post of the year tells you just how many photos that I made this winter. Normally I rely on a few of these posts to get through the rough part of the winter. This year I had plenty to fall back on. I still check the birds out, but I have been waiting for the photos to be pretty good to get out there. The two birds today really were curious about me, and they made for good photos. Making these photos did give me the bug to make more birds photos. That might be good timing as I assume the spring migration is ready to get going. Below are a few bonus photos from today.
