Trying Out The Sony 300mm Lens For Volleyball

One of the reasons that I pulled the trigger to buy this lens was for volleyball. Last fall I felt that I was leaving a lot of shots on the table without a longer lens. My 400mm lens is super heavy and I have to manually focus it. That is not a good combination for volleyball. The 300mm Sony is super light and super fast focusing. I really wanted to try it out for volleyball. It was everything that I had hoped that it would be.

More Photos From The Match

I only had about a half hour to make photos before I had to leave. I wanted to make sure that I was at baseball on time today. I only took the 300 to make sure that I didn’t lose focus and just test it for a half hour straight. I was pretty happy with my take for such a short period of time. I really want to see how well this fits in to my volleyball workflow. I think it will help me make a more complete gallery. I can’t wait to find a time to get it back out.
