I Love This Bar

Twelve Years Ago Today

Twelve years ago today I was walking down Main Street heading to the Lafayette Brewing Company. I was coming from the east and I saw a woman walking from the west towards the bar. I held the door open for her as she entered the brewing company and the rest is history. We married the following year and had a wonderful daughter together. This month the blog is featuring black and white images. I had this idea that when you see the grid of photos they would all be black and white. I thought that this would be the one exception that would stick out. A little color to remember a great night.

On A Sadder Note

Yesterday I learned that singer Toby Keith had died. It is never good to read that someone died, but some deaths hit you harder than others. When I moved to Iowa in 2003 my belongings were on a truck coming later. In my apartment I had very little. I had no TV, but I did have a CD player clock radio. For the first month of my time in Iowa all I had to keep me occupied in my free time was the CD player and a couple of new Toby Keith CD’s. In 2011 when I moved to West Lafayette Toby released an album called Clancy’s Tavern that I played all of the time. That is still one of my favorite albums ever. It is so good. Today’s post title is a shout out to Toby for giving me lots of entertainment over the years.
