Trying Something New
For the blog this month I want to post at least one photo a day in monochrome. The thought is to go out and look for light or scenes that would look good in black and white. I don’t want to convert something after the fact to black and white. I want have the intention when I make the photo. It should be a good exercise that will force me to think a little different. Of course the first post of the month is from a game. I did go to this spot thinking about making something like this though.
A Weird Feeling
Last night as Boo Buie was driving to possibly make the game winning shot I was actually rooting for it to go in. His momentum would have brought him very close to me, and the celebration of a huge upset would have happened right in front of me. I am a Purdue fan, but I also want to sell some photos. I would hope that something in that celebration would have ran somewhere. The shot did not go in, and Purdue would win the game in overtime.
More Photos From The Game
This year has been a learning experience as I make images for the wire. It is a completely different mentality than I had to have in past years. In the past I was photographing with Purdue in mind. This year it is trying to get something of anything that could be newsworthy. Last night I did not have the remote out for the first half because I had a back row spot on the floor. It is an interesting task to make photos for the wire over someone else’s shoulder. Lucky for me the person who was schedule to be in the spot where I normally sit did not show for the game so I ended up in my normal spot. It is interesting to get bumped from the spot for someone who didn’t even care to show for the game. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the game.
