Photographing Senior Night

One of the most bittersweet nights to photograph is senior night. It doesn’t matter what level you are photographing. You have athletes that you have seen and photographed for a while now moving on. I was very happy to get the call to cover the West Lafayette senior night, but it also kind of caught me off guard. It just doesn’t seem like time for basketball to be winding down. It meant a lot though to be asked to cover this special night.

Find The Flag

One thing that I always enjoyed at the West Side gym is the huge flag that comes down for the anthem. Ten years ago I used to make a lot of photos in this gym. Back then I never knew just what to do with the flag. Last night I had an idea that I wanted to try out. I was hoping that the team would line up across the court, and luckily for me they did.

Getting Ready For Softball Season

I saw these two first basemen lined up next to each other on the free throw line. I couldn’t help but think that they will be squaring off on the diamond soon. Looking at both teams I saw softball players all over the court. It is always cool to see players that don’t specialize in one sport.
