Harrison Blacks Out May Gymnasium
Last night was the second blackout game that Harrison has put on. The first one last year was very fun to cover. This year I knew that it would be as well. The pregame routine changes for the big night, but in a great way. It is a photographers dream. I went into the game with a different mentality than I normally do. I have been putting out larger galleries for these high school games, but for this I really wanted around 20 images. I would gamble a bit if I needed to, but there really is no need for the larger galleries. I like the new approach as it is less editing, and therefore less time on the computer after the game.
Going Black And White
At some point during the day Friday I was trying to come up with my angle for the game. What would I key on for the blackout night. I ended up coming up with the idea to just photograph the game all in black and white. I made a new preset for Lightroom that had an inkier old film feel to it for the night that I used for all of the photos. I really like how the preset turned out, and this idea as a whole. Below are more of my images from the game last night.
