A Late Night Snowy Walk Around Purdue

Finally Getting A Snowy Walk On Campus

Lately I have been looking at the forecast and the weather has looked right all day for some snow just after sunset. Of course as the day goes on that chance will start to dwindle, and it ends up snowing in the middle of the night. Yesterday started to feel that same way. The chances of snow really moved into the middle of the night. I lucked out though and it snowed just enough for a while early in the night for me to get out and make a few photos. The conditions were not perfect, but they were fun to make a few photos in.

Changing It Up A Little

I have a setup that is my snokeh setup. I use my Sony A7RIII and my Sony 24-105mm f/4 lens. For this trip I took my Sony A7RIII but put my Sony 24mm f/1.4 on it. I also had my Sony A1 with a Sony 50mm f/1.2 lens on it. This would let me make some photos in the snow that look a little different. The extra stops on the 24mm f/1.4 also allowed me to make those smaller snow flakes into bigger snokeh. I really need to get out and try some photos with my 135mm f/1.8 lens in the snow.

Having Some Fun In Black And White

I have been toying with the idea of making a photo a day in February in black and white. I like the idea of coming up with a concept every day to go out and make. I am still deciding how I want to go about it, but I think that it would be a fun project. Here I was playing with that idea a little bit. How much could I blow out the whites before it stops working? I have some time on my side before February, but I think that in the boring winter months a black and white project like that will get me out there making some more photos.

More Photos From My Walk

Lately it feels like I have been watching more videos about photography on YouTube than actually making images. It was good to get out and try some things last night. I have been really studying a couple of street photographers lately, and it was good to get out and try my version of what they do.
