The Iowa Hawkeyes And Caitlin Clark Come To Purdue
Last night Cailin Clark and Iowa came to town. This date has been circled on the calendar for a while now. Last year I was bummed when Iowa was one of the teams not on the schedule to come to Purdue. This year the legend of Caitlin Clark has only grown. I don’t cover rock stars, but this has to be what that feels like. This Iowa team is a good one, and it was cool to see how far some of these fans travelled late on a Wednesday night to see her play. Her best play of the night didn’t even count. Late in the first half she knew she would be fouled so she threw up a shot. It went in. She got the shot off before the foul was committed but the refs didn’t see it that way. I don’t know why they can’t review things like that. A four point play would have been something to see. She will just have to settle for the win and triple double though.
A Sold Out Mackey Arena
Saying that Mackey Arena is sold out is not a new thing. The men have done it for a while now. The women on the other hand have only done it four times, and two of those have come in the last year. Maybe I have on rose colored glasses, but I really think that this Purdue team is starting something here. There are some pieces in place that I really like. Come on out for the Indiana game and help sell that one out too.
More Photos From The Game
For some reason I didn’t like my action photos from last night. Sometimes the game just isn’t going your way. Every time that I thought I had something a hand or arm would be covering a face. I was happy with my overall take from the game though. You can see some of those photos here.
