A Quiet Moment During Boiler Gold Rush
When the campus is quiet seems to be when I like it the most. Here just before the school year started I took a walk on campus. I normally do not make photos around the math building, but this chalk wave pulled me in. I love the way that it contrasted with the golden lights from inside of the building. This is a simple scene, but that is what I wanted to make more of last year. This year I hope to build on that a little bit.
Fibonacci and Photography
One of the things that I try and do with my work is to use the golden ration. My crops are usually made with that in mind in sports. If possible I have composed with that in mind when it is more a stationary subject. The golden ration is everywhere. It starts in our DNA, and can be found all over nature. If you can work it into your photography it is human nature that it makes it more pleasing. This wave was close enough to the fibonacci spiral that I thought it would be fun to make a photo of it.
