John Wooden And A Lunar Halo

Finding A Subject For The Lunar Halo

Back in November I had made a photo of a lunar halo at my house and even processed it and wrote a blog post about it. I was ready to go to bed when I tried to think of a good place to make a photo of it with something in the foreground. I ran up to campus not thinking about how shutdown it would be with a big football game about twelve hours away. I had planned on parking near Ross Ade to make a photo of the stadium with the moon, but it was too bright. I tried the Boilermaker statue, but the lights around the stadium were just too much. Here at the John Wooden statue though the light was just right to make a photo.

Trying Some New Things With The Moon

This was the year when I wanted to try some different things with the moon. Something like this lunar halo was something that I rarely see so it was nice to get out and make a photo of it. This is the kind of photo that I want to post to the blog much earlier than I was able to. I started my Christmas posts early this year, and wouldn’t you know it something really cool happened right after I did that. When you post a photo or two a day every day for years though you realize that it is a good thing to have photos that you like waiting to be posted. It means that the quality of the posts will be good for a while.
