Purdue Basketball Defeats Jacksonville

Purdue Laces Out The Dolphins

Last night I was back in Mackey photographing Purdue again. The non-conference season is winding down, and this always seems like a time of year when Purdue can let their guard down a little. You have the absence of the student section combined with people planning holiday travel. In past years this was a game where you could see that Purdue was not focused. This year this team seems like they are out to destroy everyone every game.

The Robert McCray V Show

I really thought that I did not make any good photos in the first half of the game. I really needed something to build a little confidence in the second half. That is when Robert McCray V decided to take over the game. He went on a little scoring run that gave me some photos that I really liked. He was challenging everyone which makes for a good image. In a short period of time I made most of my gallery.

Zooming In

In the first half Zach Edey was stretching out for a rebound, and it made for an interesting image. I cropped in a little to just have the things that I was interested in as part of my frame. This is a bonus year for making Edey images as far as I am concerned. I have been having some fun capturing the other things that he does well in addition to his dunks.

Going Wide

Knowing ahead of time that I had a spot on the floor allowed me to plan to take a remote with me. The remote allows me to make two images at once. This is a great way to change up the look of what you are doing very passively. Here you can see my wide image of a photo from earlier in the post. I like both of them, but here you can see a little more of the arena. I really like these types of photos for a sense of place.
