The Merry Main Street Market

This past weekend we went to downtown Lafayette to see the Merry Main Street Market. We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and when we walked out we were greeted with an amazing sky. With Main Street closed down it allowed me to make this photo. This is such a beautiful part of town anyway, but with an amazing sky it is even better.

When Scrooge Shows Up

I was excited for this chance to shop downtown so I looked up the festival to see more about it. Of course right away I saw that they had stolen one of my images for their advertising. The photography business is a funny thing. People will just lift your stuff all of the time without a second thought. For some reason they don’t feel like it is stealing. When it is your work that is taken though that is exactly what it feels like. It is amazing in this day and age that they can’t even contact you to ask about using the photo. I will admit that it dampened my enthusiasm for the market once I learned that it was run by thieves.
