The Tree Is Officially Lit

Last night we continued the family tradition of watching the Purdue President turn on the Purdue Christmas tree. Although he was present at the ceremony last year this is the first year that president Mung Chiang pressed the button. This is always a fun event that ends up being very well attended. We get to the union early to make sure to get a good seat. My little one and I have been coming to these for some time now, and it never gets old. Hopefully she still wants to go next year.

This is always a fun event to cover. You are pretty much locked into one spot during it though so I always feel like my photos look the same. After it was over we moved around to get a couple of different views. My photo of the tree is still to come when all of the podiums and stages are moved out of the hall. This year I have an idea for a photo that is a little different from what I normally do. Here are some of my favorite photos from the event last night though while we wait for the tree photo.
