There is Nothing Like A Live Show

I made the photo above before going into a comedy show at the Long Center. There is nothing like those moments before a show when you are walking in. The marquee is lit up with the name of the performance and there is that feeling in the air. Here I took a minute before going in to take a look at the building. Ever since I learned some of the history of the building I have looked at it differently. It started out with a comedy show so it was cool to see another comedy show inside of it.

Trying To Emulate Film

When I made this photo I made it slightly overexposed so that the marquee lights would blow out a little. That combined with the very warm edit gave me something film like in my mind. I have made many photos of this building so it was fun to try something new with it. I am not going out every day with a film camera these days. I still am using film, but I think that it has slowed down to a more normal pace. What I learned though was a new way to see things. Hopefully that has shown up in my other work lately.
