The Old Gameday Drive
As we get closer to gameday tomorrow I started thinking about my old routine on gameday. It involved a 90 mile drive south to see the Boilers play. This liquor store in Brookston just before the curve was always a welcome site because it meant I was almost to Lafayette. As I drove by it I was always amazing that you would put a building at the end of a long straight section of highway. I always wondered if it had been driven into as a driver missed the curve.
Finding Beauty In The Old Buildings
Part of the fun of some of my drives is finding the beauty in everything. An old building like this is one that I might have passed up in the past, but before it becomes a permanent part of the past I wanted to make a photo of it. It was one of the landmarks of my many trips to Purdue, and it was cool to add it to the blog today. Now of course my gameday commute is much shorter. I don’t have to calculate the time difference into my days either. It is amazing how many times that I made that drive.
