Gameday At Mackey

Tonight is the first official game of this new season for Purdue. They play a Samford team that has been having some fun in the last week leading up to the game using it as a promotion for their program. I loved those videos and am probably more pumped for a game like this one because of them. These first couple games of the season are exciting because you get to see the team in action, but the games are usually not very good. The real hype starts down the road. This year though the hype starts today. I am not the only one hoping to see a certain Samford player take the opening tip.

Seeing The Athletes In Action

This past weekend I was lucky enough to work an event where I saw the team interacting with some young kids. It was a small event that let the kids watch the end of practice after touring the facilities. We only saw the end, but the team had been worked pretty hard and had to be tired. When the kids took the floor to hang out with the team you would never have guessed how tired the players were. They were amazing with the kids and made them feel special. These basketball players are known for what they do on that court with the bright lights on and a full crowd. I will never forget how great they were when nobody was watching. That tells me all that I need to know about this team.
